On Friday, we had big plans to spend the afternoon at the SIUE pool, but Mother Nature had other plans in mind. It was unseasonably chilly, so we had to cancel plans for the pool and replace them with plans for the park. I didn't break the news to Braden until AFTER his nap because I knew all he would do was complain when he was supposed to be sleeping. When he woke up, we got ready and headed out to Drost Park in Maryville. This park is great because it doesn't have rocks, mulch, or tire pieces for padding. The whole playground is padded with a smooth, bouncy surface. We met up with Jaycie, Jackson, and Olivia and later were joined by Sarah, Alayna, Logan, and Lucas. A good time was had by all. Kendall especially enjoyed sliding. It took her over an hour to get used to walking on the equipment. She could frequently be heard saying "cafull" to kids who were climbing and even to herself when she was near the stairs or an opening on the equipment. We hope to have many more park adventures. There are plans in the works with some of my work friends and their kids to have an area park tour where we visit a different park in the area each Monday morning (great idea Jaycie!). I'm sure I'll have more pictures of those parks in the future. For now, enjoy these snapshots of the kids having lots of fun at the park...
Will I ever catch up?!?
