Cancun

We left on August 3rd for Cancun, Mexico. Our flight took off at 7 am, so we had to be there at 5 am. You might think that is too early to get to the airport, but we just barely made the flight! And we weren't the last ones to board! I do NOT enjoy flying, so I was ready to get there...fast! We arrived at our hotel around 11:00 and they gave us one room while the other room was getting ready. We enjoyed lunch and then we were poolside for the rest of the day! We had a great dinner and then spent the rest of the week trying to find the best pool chairs that offered the perfect amount of sun and shade. That was the hardest part of the vacation!!! We only left the resort once to go on a steak and lobster cruise on the Friday before we left for home. The shuttle to pick us up was scheduled to arrive at 7:45 on Saturday (early!) and we were able to be in our driveway around 3:00 Saturday afternoon. We had a great time and couldn't ask for better vacation partners than Jaycie and Randy! Who else would be able to take 400 pictures to document the week? Here is just a sampling of some of the vacation shots. Enjoy!

At our hotel lobby waiting for a room to be ready.

On the balcony of Jaycie and Randy's room. We made this our camp until our room was ready.

The view from our room (after we moved in).

Jaycie and I being very sun safe in our hats and glasses. Beer keeps you safe in the sun, too...right?

Dustin and Randy are ready for lunch and then the pool!

At the edge of the infinity pool. We spent a lot of time here over the course of the week.

Dustin and I at dinner the first night.

The Rodgers and Riechmanns before dinner at the Brazilian restaurant on our second night.

After dinner we headed to the disco in the Riu Hotel next door to our resort. We walked home afterwards and had to walk in the ocean...or in my case be carried!

Walking on the beach on our 3rd day in Cancun. Jaycie was very thorough in her picture taking. Many of the ones you see here are from her camera!

Enjoying dinner at the steakhouse on our 3rd night. The food was great, but the dessert left something to be desired.

Enjoying the Grease show put on by the resort entertainers.

Outside waiting for our late dinner reservation at the Japanese Sushi restaurant on our resort. We did not eat here the last time we stayed, but this time it was our favorite!

Our last "real" day in Cancun. It was bittersweet. This rock was a favorite jumping off spot for everyone except me!

I braved the ocean and we kayaked around our resort. It was actually one of the most fun things we did!

We make a great team!

Our last evening we ventured off of the resort and took a steak and lobster cruise. Here we are before we boarded the boat.

It rained on us so we had to move inside the boat. Dustin is pumped about this cruise.

After dinner the rain left and we were able to spend most of the return ride on the upper deck and watch the somewhat cloudy sunset.

Saturday morning we had to be in the lobby very early, but we were ready. We had a great time and look forward to another vacation 3 years from now (maybe)!
